American-born Nigerian midfielder Samuel Falowo has reaffirmed his desire to represent Nigeria at the international level following an impressive season in Romania with CS Oașul 1969.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who is eligible to play for both the United States and Nigeria, says playing for the Super Eagles remains his biggest football ambition despite growing up in America.
Falowo enjoyed a strong campaign with Romanian side CS Oașul 1969, featuring in 24 matches and establishing himself as one of the promising young midfielders at the club. His performances have continued to attract attention thanks to his composure on the ball, defensive awareness, and versatility in midfield.
Before moving to Europe, Falomo developed at the prestigious Barça Residency Academy in the United States, where he sharpened the technical and tactical qualities that now define his game.
Speaking to Platinum News, the midfielder opened up on his deep connection to Nigeria and his dream of one day representing the Super Eagles.
“I grew up watching all the Nigerian national teams, and my dad visits Nigeria regularly,” Falomo said.
“So I am committed to playing for Nigeria, as that has always been my dream, and I hope it comes to pass.”
The youngster also praised the current generation of Nigerian stars, admitting he hopes to one day share the dressing room with some of the country’s biggest names.
“I follow all the Nigerian national teams, not just the Super Eagles. But obviously, the Super Eagles are a big brand and are blessed with great players like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi and many more,” he added.
“I would like to be part of the team, but I just have to keep working hard.”
Known for his tactical discipline, ball-winning ability, and calmness under pressure, Falomo is regarded as a modern defensive midfielder capable of operating in multiple midfield roles.
With age still on his side and valuable European experience already under his belt, the Nigerian-eligible midfielder will now hope his steady rise in Romania eventually earns him recognition from the Super Eagles setup.
