Tojemarine Academy displayed an amazing series of actions as they emerged victorious in the Lagos Derby on day 1 of the Prudent Energy Handball PremierLeague 2022 phase 2.
Tojemarine defeated city fellows Seasider 31-24 with Former Seasider player Yahya Owolabi leading the charge at the UNILAG indoor sports hall.
In other matches of the Male Category, defending champion Kano Pillars secured a win without needing to enter the field of play as they were gifted ten goals and three points as opponents Kada Stars did not show up for the league while Niger United arrested Police Machine with a 30-23 win.
Confluence Stars shined against Benue Buffaloes 30-23 as Safety Shooters were also gifted ten goals and 3 points as the Royalty of Owena Kings did not grace the league match. Rima Strikers however sunk the defence of De Defenders in a 33-26 win.
In the Female Category, Defender Babes outclassed Plateau Peacocks 27-23 while Rima Babes received a walkover on Adorable Angels who were nowhere in sight as the same was done in favour of Safety Babes over Kada Queens.
The last match in the female category saw Bendel Dynamos unleash riot as they defeated Benue Quesns’ 33-22 victory.
