Watford has played four matches at the ongoing Sky Bet Championship and Maduka Okoye is yet to find his place on the starting eleven as the Foxes played a 1-1 draw against Birmingham City on Tuesday evening.
The 22-year-old goalie was on the team sheet for last night’s fixture but he was unable to get a minute as Watford secured a valuable point at St. Andrews
Watford’s new No.1 goalie Daniel Bachmann has been on impressive form and it would prove difficult for Maduka Okoye to beat him to Watford’s no 1 position. Bachmann was even the Man of the Match in Watford’s victory over Burnley after making four saves which saw the Foxes securing maximum points despite being reduced to ten men in the 81st minute.
This would be a worry for the Nigeria Male National Team; the Super Eagles, as all the first-choice goalkeepers (Francis Uzoho, Maduka Okoye) are not the first choice for their clubs bar Adebayo Adeleye at Hapoel Katamon in Israel and Ayo Ezekiel Ikuepamitan in the Slovakian Second division as active keepers.
