Ace sports journalist, Dr. Adewole Opatola has added another feather to his wings as he was on Friday inaugurated amongst other seasoned sports administrators into the Edo State Boxing Association by the executive governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
The inauguration which took place at the New Festival Hall, Edo State government house, Benin City saw the Boxing Association and thirty other association boards inaugurated by the governor.
In a letter of appointment dated April 5th and signed by the Executive Chairman of the sports commission, Comrade Yussuf Alli, the sports journalist per excellent was congratulated and advised to bring to the fore, his wealth of experience as a sports enthusiast and one with a deep understanding of the sector to drive Edo State Sports forward.
The elated appointee in a WhatsApp chat with Platinum News expressed his delight at the appointment and promised that he will do all in his capacity to deliver as expected.
“I’m happy for this appointment, it shows that some people are watching what we are doing and they feel that I can be part of trusted hands who can drive the state’s sports forward.”

The Edo State Boxing Association with 7-man board members will with immediate effect begin the revival and injection of innovative programs under the leadership of former World Boxing champion, Albert Eromosele.
