NFF scraps IMC, retains Elegbeleye as Chairman NPFL board.

The Nigeria Football Federation has on Thursday confirmed Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye as the Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

In what is scrapping of the Interim Management Committee that oversaw the affairs of the Nigeria Premier Football League last season, the Federation in a communique confirmed the former deputy chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Youth and Sports as the Chairman of the new board which comprises eight other members.

The former Director-General of the National Sports Commission will chair the board and have Mallam Mohammed Nasiru Sa’idu (Member); Barr. Poubeni Ogun (Member); Mr. Daniel Amokachi (Member); Dr. Okey Kpalukwu (Member); Mallam Suleiman Umar (Member) and; Mr. Dominic Iorfa (Member) as members of the board with Barrister Danlami Ibrahim serving as the Secretary and Legal Adviser of the board.

Retaining his position as the Chief Operating Officer is the former Chairman, of Enugu Rangers, Mr. Davidson Owumi.

According to the communique, Elegbeleye is retained after brilliantly heading the IMC that executed the last NPFL season and the Super 6 which drew high praises from the NFF and stakeholders in general.

The new NPFL board has a two-year tenure, the same as the boards of the Nigeria National League, the Nigeria Women Football League and the Nigeria Nation-Wide League One that was inaugurated on Monday.
