Nigeria forward Victor Boniface has inked a five-year deal with Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee from Royal Union Saint Gilliose.
According to Soccernet, a good number of sources confirmed that the sensational 22-year-old Nigerian has completed the switch to the Bundesliga club to keep him at the club until June 2028.
However, it is rumoured that the switch is around a substantial sum of €20 million, with an additional €7.5 million allocated for add-ons and contractual clauses, with the financial intricacies of the transfer remaining unknown.
The former Bodø/Glimt attacker’s ascent to prominence has been exceptional, finished the 2022/23 season with 22 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances, leading Union Saint Gilliose to an impressive second-place finish in the recently concluded Belgian Pro League campaign.
While, he remarkably clinched the joint-top goalscorer award (9 goals in 10 games) in the Europa League, etching his name in history as the first Nigerian to achieve such a feat.
