In what looks like a war of words between the Female end of the Manchester United fan base and the male end, images are getting a little bit clearer of what the immediate future of the ousted Manchester United youngster, Mason Greenwood is.
During the week, several British news outlets reported that a Manchester United female fans group (Female Fans Against Greenwood’s Return) will protest against Mason Greenwood’s potential return to the first-team squad during Monday’s opening Premier League game against Wolves. The group demanded the Red Devils adopt a “zero tolerance” approach with their imminent decision on the ex-England international’s return.
However on Saturday, another group, “which called themselves Male fans support group for Greenwood return” demanded that the club abide by their duty of care towards their male fans, footballers, and employees and demonstrate a zero tolerance approach towards acts of false accusations, Traps and online media trail against the footballers by bringing Mason Greenwood back into the team.
Despite this war of words, it is emerging quite clearly that a possible announcement is imminent about the young striker.
Firstly, it was reported by the Express that Manchester United’s official video game partner eFootball may have given the game away to Mason Greenwood after their squad list for the new game was revealed.
The popular football game which is developed by Japanese animation firm Konami and their affiliation with United has led to suggestions that Greenwood’s future has been decided ahead of the imminent announcement from the club.
According to a Manchester United close source, Morgan (@Muppetier) through his Twitter handle, announced that Manchester United have Completed Greenwood’s investigation.
According to him, Manchester United are in a briefing phase now, where they are notifying important parties and addressing concerns which include the women’s team, which consists of players currently representing the three Lionesses of England at the ongoing 2023 FIFA World Cup.
He added that the club will be accepting feedback but the final decision will be based on the objective findings of the investigation and not opinion. The women or other parties will not change the decision.
The striker has been suspended since January 2022 after he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault before the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges earlier this year.
