Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom has put pen to paper for a five-year contract with Ajax for a transfer fee of €12.3m plus €2m add-ons.
The 27-year-old switched to the Dutch giants from Sky Bet Championship club, Middlesbrough in a deal that will run until June 30, 2028.
However, the former Arsenal striker had finished last campaign with 29 goals for Boro in all competitions to claim the English football second tier’s top scorer award.
“I’d like to thank everyone connected with Boro. Last season was full of memories I’ll never forget and I will be forever proud. Everyone knows what I think of Michael Carrick, and I’m sure success is just around the corner” Akpom said.
