NWFL Premiership champions, Delta Queens opened their WAFU Zone B qualification playoffs for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League with a comfortable victory against USFA of Burkina Faso on Sunday afternoon at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City.
Alaba Olabiyi scored in the 5th minute of the game to put the six times NWFL Premiership champions ahead in the game. The early goal was the difference between both teams at halftime.
In the second half, Chinaza Agoh and Mercy Omokwo scored in the 61st and 79th minutes respectively to extend the margin and put the game beyond reach for the USFA ladies.
Delta Queens will next face Sam Kelly FC of Benin Republic on Friday in the final group A fixture.
