…renew vow to be fully involved in God’s work after retirement from active politics
Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, has tasked Catholic Men to recommit to the mission of living exemplary lives, by modelling themselves as good fathers in society and exhibiting values worthy of emulation.
Shaibu who was joined by his wife, Comrade Mrs Maryann Philip-Shaibu, gave the charge during his Investiture as Grand Patron of the Catholic Men Organization, CMO, Benin Archdiocese, at the Blessed Tansi Catholic Church, Benin City.
While rejoicing with the Catholic men on their annual thanksgiving and fundraising, the Deputy Governor commended them for their support to the Church and society at large.
He said: “We rejoice and celebrate with the CMO on this remarkable event. I use this medium to express my gratitude to the Benin Archdiocesan Catholic Men Organisation, CMO for the support they offer towards the Church and society”.
“While we thank God for the life and achievements of the organisation, I encourage you not to rest on your oars, but use this period to recommit yourselves to the mission of living exemplary lives; modelling yourselves as good fathers in our society and keeping praying for our country”.
“Pay more attention to the young ones, especially the youth. They’re the future of our state and country. We must join our faith with them not to derail from the activities of the church”.
“It is time for us to seek God for prayers for our country, the economy and the leaders. As I have always said, after politics, I will be fully involved in church activities and evangelization of the gospel”, he added.
The Deputy Governor later joined his wife at the inauguration of the Children’s League of Tarcisians of the Sacred Heart at Saint Paul Catholic Church, Airport Road, Benin City.
