The sole representative of Nigeria at this season’s CAF interclub competition, Rivers United will this weekend learn about their group’s opponents in the CAF Confederation’s Cup tournament.
The official draw for the Group Stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will be conducted on Friday, 6 October 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup draw is scheduled for Noon, Nigerian time with the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League draw at 1 pm Nigerian time.
The competitions after two rounds of qualification stages have seen clubs secure their respective places in the group stages. Both champions of the two competitions, Al Ahly SC (CAFCL) and USM Alger (CAFCC) will feature in the Draw along with other household names of African football who will be looking at achieving continental glory this season.
Amongst some of the exciting names in the Champions League include Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou who surprised Real Bamako while Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana eliminated 1995 champions Orlando Pirates.
