The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to postpone the African Football League (AFL) fixture between Wydad Athletic Club and Nigeria’s Enyimba by 24 hours, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
The abrupt change in schedule came after Enyimba encountered difficulties in securing a landing permit from Moroccan authorities for their chartered aircraft.
Originally slated for tomorrow, the return leg of the quarter-final clash was scheduled to take place in Casablanca. However, the CAF has intervened to provide Enyimba with extra preparation time.
Enyimba, determined not to let travel obstacles stand in their way, is now set to complete their journey to Casablanca today. The rescheduled match will now kick off on Thursday at 7pm, as both Morocco and Nigeria share the same time zone.
TMoroccan side, Wydad Athletic Club secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg of the quarter-finals in Uyo, Nigeria, thanks to Yahya Jabrane’s penalty.
