The President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau has depicted confidence in the strength of the Super Eagles to win a fourth title at the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
Gusau said that the three-time African champions do not only have the best player on the continent in Victor Osimhen but also have a bunch of exceptional talents which makes the Super Eagles a formidable side and the tournament favourites at this year’s AFCON competition.
“I have confidence in the team. We have upcoming and talented players, who are doing wonderfully well in their European clubs and ready to make a name for themselves.
“We have the best player in Africa in Osimhen, but he has yet to win the AFCON,” Gusau told Totori News.
Jose Peseiro’s men are currently in preparations for Africa’s biennial tournament at their Abu Dhabi training base in the United Arab Emirates. While, they will fly out to Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10 ahead of their opening game against Equatorial Guinea in Group A at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday, January 14.
