AFCON 2023: Super Eagles to compete in Abu Dhabi Pre-AFCON tournament

With about 37 days to the commencement of the African Cup of Nations “Ivory Coast 2023“, the Nigeria Football Federation is getting every necessary arrangement done in the right way to further equip the Super Eagles ahead of the showdown, platinumnewsng.com is reporting

As part of preparations for the CAF TotalEnergies Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, The Stallions of Burkinaa Faso and The Leopards of Democratic Republic of Congo will be involved in a mini tournament in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

According to a Nigerian popular sports journalist, George Essien in his X (formerly Twitter) post, Thursday afternoon, the three teams will camp in the Middle East country ahead of the tournament kickoff on January 13, 2024.

Mighty George as fondly called further said that the Super Eagles camp is expected to open in late December.

Three-time champions, Super Eagles of Nigeria are seeking a repeat of the 2013 feat which saw them win the most coveted football trophy in the continent.

Nigeria is grouped alongside hosts, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau in the Group A of the 34th African Nations Cup. Democratic Republic of Congo is grouped alongside Morocco, Zambia and Tanzania in Group F while Burkina Faso will match up against Algeria, Mauritania and Angola in Group D
