AFCON 23: “I was not expecting my call up” – Christian Nwoke

Sporting Lagos goalkeeper, Christian Nwoke is saying he never anticipated his inclusion in Jose Peseiro’s Super Eagles provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

Speaking exclusively with Brila FM, the goalkeeper expressed his joy with being called up to don the colours of green and white.

“I wasn’t expect it. I was surprised with the inclusion of my name. Hopefully I will put my best to make the final list to represent Nigeria in the AFCON.” Nwoke told Brila.

Peseiro is expected to trim the squad to a 27-man-squad before January 9 for the biennial competition. Christian Nwoke has kept four cleansheets this season in the NPFL.
