In a show of love for the people of Ward D of Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area, Lagos, the Chairman of Olayonu Street, Obawole, Mr Ayoola Babatunde Festus has donated a sum of five hundred thousand naira (500, 000), to support Dada Olumuyiwa Ola Councilorship race ahead of the forthcoming Lagos Local Government and Council election.
The donation, made via bank transaction on June 12, 2025 signifies the strong belief and confidence in the candidate to deliver dividends of democracy to the good people of Ward D.
When contacted by Platinum News on the reason for the donation, the friendly-speaking Mr Festus said he did that because he knew honourable Dada Olumuyiwa to be the right person to lead and change the face of Ward D from what it used to be. “Honourable Dada isn’t a new person to me, I know his kind of human and I’m so sure that that’s what Ward D needs for its betterment”.
It has been in my mind for a long time to make this donation, but I decided to wait till Democracy Day so that the donation can be significant”.
“For 26 years we have been practising democracy, we the masses have not enjoyed the dividends at the grassroots, that’s why I made the donation on a day like this, so send a good message to the honourable, so that he can deliver the lacking dividends of democracy we have so much expected.”
“I have confidence in the man, that’s why I’m donating to his campaign so.” I want to enjoin more people to come out and support this move, which will make him deliver when he gets there because he’s now a community project that must make the people happy at the end of the day.”
On his own, honourable Dada Olumuyiwa expressed his disbelief at the donation and said this would further keep him on the ground to place the people of Ward D in his heart daily and never disappoint them.
“I’m short of words and I am grateful to Mr Ayoola Festus for this great gesture — this is a huge boost “to our campaign”.
“By the grace of God, we will get there and the people will never regret doing this for the Ward.”
The Local Council election is 29 days away from its July 12 fixed date by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission.
