The Nigeria U17 Female National team, the Flamingos defeated Central Africa Republic in the second leg of the U17 Women World Cup Qualifiers by 6-0 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, on Friday, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
The victory made it 12-0 on aggregate after both legs. The Flamingos had earlier defeated Central Africa Republic 6-0 in front of their fans, on Monday, February 5, in Duoala. Goals came from Prisca Nwachukwu and Etim Edidiong with Harmony Chidi and Shakirat getting a brace each.
Chidi, who scored the first goal in the first leg continued from where she stopped by putting the Flamingos in front in the 2nd minute of the game.
12 minutes later, the in-form striker got herself a brace, doubling the lead for the home side with a long-range effort. Kesiena Tessy made it 3 before the break in the 36th minute.
Kareem Ramota in the 55th minute increased her side’s lead to 4 with a spectacular finish, lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper. The substitute, Ramota, got her second and a fifth for the Flamingos in the 85th minute.
The match ended emphatically as Flamingos forward, Chidi completed her hat-trick. Nigeria’s Flamingos are through to the third round of qualification scoring six goals in both legs.
