Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu has sent a goodwill message to the Christian faithful on the occasion of the Easter celebration across the world.
Comrade Shaibu on his official social media handles congratulated the christians stating that the death and resurrection of Christ is a global event which signifies greatness.
According to Shaibu, Christians in Nigeria should use this occasion to reflect on the immediate past events in the country which has left a lot of uncertainties on the hopes of Nigerians.
“My Dear Good People of Edo State and indeed, Fellow Nigerians, It’s another auspicious occasion for Christians in Nigeria to join their counterparts around the world in celebration of the Easter Season.”
“The season has become a global historic event, symbolizing the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the anchor and beacon of the Christian Faith.”
“As a nation, let me admonish our people, particularly the Christian faithful to reflect on the events of the recent past in our collective quest at consolidating our hard-earned democracy.”
“The conduct of the 2023 general elections left in its trail more questions than answers, against the hope and expectations of Nigerians.”
He however sued for peace and unity amongst Nigerians regardless of tongue, faith and tribe, an act he believes will help re-inspire the hope of Nigerians for a better future.
“However, as a great people, bound together in one love and unity of purpose, Easter Season avails us the opportunity to reflect on the sacrificial life and unconditional love of Jesus Christ for mankind.”
“Therefore, permit me to say that, though tongue and tribe may differ, let’s endeavour to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ to build a strong, peaceful and united nation for the benefit of all and generations yet unborn.”
“I believe that together, we can recover our dear country and rescue our people by inspiring hope for a greater and brighter future.”
“This is what Easter signifies and symbolizes for humanity in general.”
