ECL25: Final-Day Showdown as Title, Top 3, Survival Battles Go to the Wire

Final matchday of the 2025 Edo Conference League arrives with every storyline possible—title tension, top-three battles, mid-table pride, and a fierce survival scramble. With the last round taking shape today, nothing is guaranteed, and every kick could dramatically reshape the table.

Let’s look into how each fixture could define the destiny of the season.

St Andrews FC vs Worshippers FC – Title Decider at the Top
St Andrews sit comfortably at the summit with 22 points, unbeaten and boasting an unbelievable 16–0 defensive record. One more positive result confirms them as champions. But standing in their way is the dangerous Worshippers FC (14 pts) — a side capable of stunning any opponent. A victory seals St Andrews’ title beyond doubt.
A draw might still be enough, but only if Westgate fails to win. A loss, however, opens the door for a dramatic final-day upset.

Westgate FC vs Shavik FC – A Clash That Could Rewrite the Title Race
Both sides have everything to fight for. Westgate (19 pts) must win to keep any hope of toppling St Andrews. Shavik (16 pts) can leapfrog Westgate into second place with a win and even dream of snatching the title should St Andrews collapse. Westgate boasts the league’s most lethal attack (22 goals), but Shavik’s balanced unit makes this a razor-edge contest.
This fixture is arguably the biggest wildcard of the final day — its outcome reshapes both the title race and top-three standings.

Genesis FC vs Rangers FC – Mid-Table with High Stakes
Genesis (6 pts, -7 GD) enter the final day still mathematically at risk of dropping into the bottom two if results elsewhere go wrong. Their lack of goals (4 scored all season) makes this a daunting matchup. Rangers (15 pts) still have an outside chance of finishing in the top three if Shavik lose and they win convincingly. Their 14-goal haul shows they can trouble any defence. A win could deliver their highest finish yet.

Etete FA vs Powerhouse FC – The Relegation Shootout
This is the survival battle. Etete and Powerhouse are joint on 6 points each, only separated by goal difference— Etete: -10 GD, Powerhouse: -14 GD. A win for either side guarantees survival. A draw? That’s where drama explodes.

A draw opens the door for Living Voices (2 pts) to leapfrog them if they win their fixture by a big margin. Etete’s stronger goal difference gives them the slight advantage, but nothing is settled.

Expect a nervy, physical contest — the type where one moment of brilliance or one mistake could decide the entire season’s fate.

Elite Babel FC vs Living Voices FC – Pride vs Survival
Elite Babel (7 pts) is safe but looking to finish strong after an inconsistent season. For Living Voices, however, it is a last-gasp bid to escape the bottom. With only 2 points all season, they need a win and for either Etete or Powerhouse to lose and a goal difference swing. It’s a long shot, but football is built on climaxing miracles.

What Could Happen to the Table?
If St Andrews wins, they are champions regardless of every other result. If St Andrews loses, Westgate can win the title with a victory.
Shavik can even dream of me if they win and overtake the goal difference.

For Second & Third Places —Westgate secured second with a win. Shavik can take second if they win or if Westgate slips. Rangers sneak into the top three if they win and Shavik lose.

Bottom of the Table
Living Voices must win to have any hope of survival. Etete vs Powerhouse determines who goes down—unless both draw.

The Edo Conference League has saved its most explosive drama for the final day. Every match has a story, every point has weight, and every team has something on the line to fight for. From the title chase at the top to the fight for survival at the bottom, Matchday Nine promises fireworks, tension, and unforgettable football.
