I am satisfied with the turn out- Edo FA boss
The Edo state Football Association led by Fred Newton Erhunmwunse has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of matches in the ongoing Esama Veterans cup tournament to celebrate the great Lion of Okada @90.
After the second round of group games on Saturday, the Edo state FA chairman said he is happy with the turn out of events as the tournament is gaining ground, Adding that the FA has more to come for veteran teams in Edo state.
“You can see the turn out, the enthusiasm of the participating teams, I am satisfied with the turn out here, this is just the beginning, under my watch as the FA chairman the veteran teams in the state will get more events like this, take my words, he stated.’
” Once again, Let me commend the participating teams, my board members, the organising committee for their commitments so far and God’s willing the closing event will be colourful with lasting memories Erhunmwunse conclude.
The ongoing tournament in honour of His Excellency Sir, Chief Dr Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion CON CFR who turn 90 September 11th 2024, will observe a break on Sunday with the last round of Group matches slated for Monday August 26th 2024 beginning from 9am at the chief Lucky Nosakhare igbinedion mini Sports Centre Etete-GRA Benin City.
According to the fixtures for the last round of Group matches on Monday, the premier All stars in the state, Edo All stars will take on Igbinedion United by 9am, while Uphill Veterans Square up against Crescent Sports club by 10.30am. the third match of the day will see Panthers FC slug it out against UBTH staff team by 12noon while the last game pitched Uwa All stars against Uzebu All stars by 1.30am.
The semifinals comes up on Wednesday August 28th 2024 with the losers final fixed for Thursday August 29th 2024 and the final/closing ceremony slated for Friday August 30th 2024.
