More Grace Football Club has officially unveiled former professional footballer Abu Ali as its new Sporting Director following the announcement of a two-year football development collaboration between Arlee Sportif and More Grace FC.

Formalised on June 15, 2026, the partnership marks the beginning of a new chapter in youth football development in Edo State.

The initiative brings together the expertise of Abu Ali, CEO of Arlee Sportif, and Prophet Pia Obaseki, Founder and Owner of More Grace FC and Senior Pastor of Divine Grace of Glory Church.

As part of the agreement, Abu Ali has been appointed Sporting Director of More Grace FC, a role in which he will oversee the club’s football development strategy, player recruitment, scouting operations, and long-term sporting objectives.

A respected figure in Nigerian football, Abu Ali enjoyed a successful playing career featuring for top Nigerian Premier League sides including Niger Tornadoes, Wikki Tourists, and Abia Warriors.

Following his retirement from active football, he transitioned into football administration and management, building a reputation in player development, talent identification, scouting, and football operations.

Speaking on the collaboration, both parties emphasised their shared commitment to creating opportunities for young footballers and strengthening the football structure of More Grace FC.

Under the partnership, Abu Ali will provide technical leadership, strategic guidance, and mentorship aimed at identifying and nurturing talented players while creating pathways for them to advance their careers within Nigeria and internationally.

Through Arlee Sportif, Abu Ali has established strong football relationships with clubs, scouts, and key stakeholders across Asia and Europe. These connections have already helped several promising players secure scouting opportunities and professional football pathways abroad.

The collaboration is built on a common vision of discovering exceptional talent, developing complete footballers, and providing young athletes with the support and exposure needed to reach higher levels of the game.

Football stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as a significant step toward enhancing grassroots football and youth development in Edo State.

Also present at the unveiling ceremony was the Vice President of More Grace FC, Mrs Favour Osadebamhen Obaseki, alongside club officials, football stakeholders, and guests.

With the combined experience, leadership, and commitment of Arlee Sportif and More Grace FC, the partnership is expected to make a lasting impact on football development in Edo State while opening doors for talented players to showcase their abilities on both national and international stages.
