GAMMA Nigeria inaugurates National Executive Committee

The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts, GAMMA Nigeria inaugurated the national executive committee which is made up of board members and referee committee members over the weekend, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The election took place at the multi-purpose indoor sports hall of the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium after the successful conclusion to the national open mixed martial arts championship organised by the association.

Mr Valentine Morah emerged as the Technical President while Mrs Loveth Patra Ekufu was elected Vice President. Hero Samson secured the seat of the secretary while Ikechuwku Nwobodo and Akinola Opeyemi got the Technical Director and Chief Referee positions respectively.

Other members of the board include Mr Constance John as Assistant Chief Referee, Valentine Morah who also got the North Central zonal coordinator position, Abubakar Odey – North West Zonal co-ordinator, Sunday Ekpo emerged as the North East Zonal co-ordinator, John Osawonyi – South-South zonal coordinator, Adedokin Abiodun – South West Zonal co-ordinator, while Blessing Ezekwe bagged the South East Zonal co-ordinator role. Mrs Maria Agha completed the board members as she was elected as the woman in sport.

The Referees committee wasn’t left out as elections were also conducted for key positions in this vital committee. Akinola Opeyemi returned as the chairman of the Referees committee, and Constance John was elected as vice chairman.

Mrs Ishilamyah Adetula emerged as Secretary, while Okporo Augustine was elected provost. The assistant secretary is Cordelia Okam, and Raymond Ahana was voted for as auditor. Ruth Ukpabi and Mary Monday were voted for as Treasurer and Welfare Officer respectively of the committee.

It is expected that these national executive members will pilot the affairs of the Nigerian arm of the global association till the Sports Ministry organises its own election for all federations in 2024.
