Udinese of Italy and Super Eagles Forward Issac Success has added to the list of Edo FA youth competitions with the donation of a giant trophy for grassroots Football development in the state.
The former World Cup winner with the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria in 2013, said he is happy with the pace of football development in his home state expecially at the grassroots, hence his alliance with the Edo FA for the sole aim of football development and talent discovery, He commended the Board of the Apex Football body in the state led by Fred Newton Erhunmwunse for their commitment towards the growth of the game in the state which is evident since they came on board last November adding that you can now watch Edo FA activities any where in the world through live streaming as produced by magnet TV.
“I am so happy that football is back to what it used to be in the past in Edo state while growing up, the present Edo FA board has done well since they came to office last year, there is a significant development from what I have seen in recent times, even the ex players, the veterans are engaged with tournaments, this is good for the game.”
“Again you can see the activities of the FA anywhere you are in the world, i must confess this is the first time in the history of Edo FA , they are constant online, for this and many other reasons I want to support the FA to develop Football in the state, I want us to have the Isaac Success under 15 Football tournament for a start, to be held in the last quarter of this year, Success stated.”
Responding, the Edo FA chairman Fred Newton Erhunmwunse thanked the former BJ Foundation youngster for identifying with Edo FA to promote grassroots Football in the state, he promised to deliver a well organised event, he assured the Udinese striker that the Edo FA is ready to partner with him for the purpose of taking football to the next level in the state.
The Nigeria international was at the stands on Monday inside the Lucky Nosakhare igbinedion mini Sports Centre Etete-GRA Benin City, to watch the last round of group matches of the ongoing Esama Veterans Cup tournament to celebrate the great Lion of Okada who turns 90 years September 11th 2024.
