Moses Aduku reveals Edo Queens Winning Formula

Edo Queens’ Coach, Moses Aduku has lauded his team’s historic victory in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six tournament attributing it to hard work, dedication, and team spirit.

The Benin-based team secured their maiden NWFL title with a 1-1 draw against Bayelsa Queens, thanks to a stunning goal by Emem Essien and a resilient defensive performance.

After the match, Edo Queens’ coach, Moses Aduku, delivered an emotional post-match speech, reflecting on the team’s journey. Aduku, who has a storied history with Bayelsa Queens, was full of praise of the Benin ladies.

“Hard work, dedication, and team spirit from the girls were crucial in achieving this milestone,” Aduku began. “I took Bayelsa from here to Edo and won in 2022. I have now taken Edo to Bayelsa State and have now won. It is 1-1.”

Aduku reminisced about his previous successes and the challenges he faced. “When I took Bayelsa to the continent, I could not continue. Now, with Edo, I will be with them at the CAF Women’s Champions League.”

Reflecting on the team’s perseverance, Aduku said, “Last year was a humiliation in Asaba. We had a conversation and did not give up. I told them it is one game at a time. Our hard work and dedication from the team paid off. They played to instruction and got the result.”

Edo Queens will now prepare for their next challenge on the continental stage, where they’ll fight for a singular ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League at the WAFU B Championship.
