The third and final leg of MTN CHAMPS Season 3, originally scheduled for April 30th to May 3rd, has now been rescheduled to take place from May 6th to 9th at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
MTN’s founding Chairman in Nigeria, Mr. Pascal Dozie, sadly passed away on April 8th, 2025. His legacy remains deeply woven into the fabric of MTN, and we join his family and loved ones in mourning this great loss. As a mark of honour and respect, we have rescheduled the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final, which will bring together top talent from across the country for what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to Season 3.
As of today, 1,737 athletes have registered for the competition, accounting for an impressive 4,636 event entries comprising 321 Cadets (U-14), 596 Youth (U-17), 423 Juniors (U-20) and 397 Seniors (no age limit).
Athlete Screening & Documentation Requirements
An Athletes’ screening will take place at bib collection on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May. All Cadet and Youth athletes must present themselves for screening as their bibs are being collected to remain on the startlists for their events. All athletes in the Cadet and Youth categories must bring a photocopy of valid identification that clearly shows their date of birth. Accepted documents include:
· Birth Certificate
· International Passport
· Official School Records
In addition, a signed Parental Consent Form is mandatory for athletes in the Cadet, Youth, and Junior categories. This form must be signed by at least one parent or legal guardian and can be downloaded at http://mtnchamps.com. Athletes should bring the completed form with them for bib collection.
Bib Collection
All registered schools and athletes must collect their competition bibs by Sunday, 4th May, from 1pm to 5pm, and Monday, 5th May, from 9am to 5pm at the venue to confirm participation.
