Note: This post contains gory and explicit image from the Sunshine Stars attack.

Following the latest attack on Sunshine Stars FC on Thursday on their way to honor this weekend game against Insurance FC in Benin, which is one of several others, the Chairman of the Nigeria Players Union Board, Abe Sunday has called for more improve security network on our highways to avoid further attacks on Football teams traveling week in and week out across the length and breath of Nigeria to honor league games

The crowded schedule of games engaged by the NPFL Clubs which exposes the players and Officials of clubs to the dangers of constantly been on the road calls for further assessment of the security architecture put in place by the league bodies Which should not only be limited to Match venues alone, but be extended to when the teams leaves their base to the match venues

It is equally advisable that players health and safety is given topmost consideration in scheduling games for the season. Under the present circumstances , the league bodies should consider the option of collaborating with the relevant security agencies to provide security escorts for teams traveling to honor away games
