Nigerian track sensation Tobi Amusan made a dazzling return to the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest, securing the top spot in her heat.
After being cleared by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) last week following doping allegations, Amusan showcased her prowess on the track. She showcased her skills in the 100 meters women’s hurdles, competing in heat 5.
In a remarkable performance, Amusan clinched first place in her heat, completing the race in a commendable 12.48 seconds. This outstanding achievement overshadowed Jamaica’s Megan Tapper, who secured the second position with a time of 12.51.
The successful outing positions Amusan and other qualified athletes for the semi-final event of the race, set to take place on Wednesday.
