NNL24: Dakkada FC hands Madiba FC first defeat of the season.

Madiba FC of Lagos lost her first game of the Nigeria National League (NNL) 2023/2024 season campaign away to Dakkada FC on Saturday in Uyo, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The Southern Conference Group A Match Day 8 fixture which was played at the Uyo Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom, ended 1-0 in favour of the home team as reported by the Madiba FC media Unit.

In the first half, Madiba FC’s goalkeeper, Adeniyi Olukunmi, thwarted Dakkada FC’s efforts, maintaining two clean sheets. Tensions escalated among both teams’ supporters as missed chances added to the intensity.

The second half saw Dakkada FC’s defender, Clever Ime, securing the lead with a header in the 55th minute.

Despite the introduction of substitutes Fadeyi Sunday, Aliu Solomon, Anthony Ndubuisi, and Isah Mohammed for the visitors, Madiba FC couldn’t get an equalizer.

Despite the result, Madiba FC still sits comfortably at the summit of the NNL Conference A standings with 19 points, having secured 6 wins and a draw in their previous games.

The Oshodi Boys will next confront Rovers FC of Calabar at home in their match day 9 fixture.
