With the humiliating 3-1 defeat suffered by Bendel Insurance in the hands of Niger Tornadoes at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City earlier in April still fresh in their memories, Coach Monday Odigie will be leading his charges to execute a possible revenge mission.
Niger Tornadoes goes into Sunday’s fixture basking in the euphoria of the victory they got last Weekend against plateau United away from home, boasting of 7 points in 3 matches and also seating on 4th position in the league table.
For Bendel Insurance, a last minute winner secured by Katsina United’s Midfielder, Azeez Falolu broke the hearts of the Bendel boys when they faced the Changi Boys two weeks ago in a game where James Oronsaye had put the visitors previously ahead in the 13th minute. Bello Lukman however cancelled the visitors lead few minutes later before waiting on till the last minute before scoring the winning goal.
The Coach Monday Odigie boys who are still waiting on to secure their first win this season had been held to a goalless draw at home by George Finidi’s Rivers United in the league opener, and they’ll need to do near extraordinary to get their first win in Minna against a hot Tornadoes side.
Meanwhile, with no new injury concerns for the Benin City based team, they are expected to feature a similar starting lineup to the one against Katsina United as the manager continues to build a formidable team.
The game between Bendel Insurance FC and the Ikon Allah boys is expected to kickoff at 3PM.
