Speaking with Moses Adukwu after Edo Queens hammered FC Robo 4-1 under the floodlights of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, the coach admitted that FC Robo were resilient and were in control.
“The league has just started. Preseason is different from the NWFL. The Robo side took over the game, we got chances and netted four times.” Adukwu told platinumnewsng.com.
“It’s too early to call ourselves tournament favourites. Our group is being tagged the group of death. Every game is like a final. We started well by winning 4-1. We need to go back home and correct our mistakes.”
Edo Queens won the Sheroes Cup and Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament without losing a game, prior to the start of the 2023/24 season.
Edo Queens will travel to Rivers as they play against Rivers Angels in matchday two of the NWFL.
