Napoli’s newly appointed manager, Rudi Garcia, has expressed his optimism about Victor Osimhen’s desire to stay with the Italian Serie A side.
Speaking during after team training session on Monday, Garcia praised the Nigeria international, hailing him as one of the best strikers out there and emphasizing how pleased the club is to have him on their roster.
“I’ve had positive feelings. The group has impressed me, and it’s pleasing. The first target is to keep all our players. Osimhen has a contract, and he’s calm,” Garcia assured, underlining the current security of Osimhen’s contract until June 2025.
While Garcia is confident that Osimhen is committed to Napoli, he acknowledges that anything can happen in football, and he can’t entirely rule out the possibility of the highly sought-after striker making a switch to another top club. However, he remains hopeful that Osimhen’s dedication to the team will prevail, and that they can continue to benefit from his skills on the field.
“I hope he stays, he has a contract, and everyone’s calm, but never say never in football. I am confident, and he wants to stay,” Garcia affirmed.
He further revealed that he has engaged in discussions with all players, including Victor Osimhen, and observed their hard work and focus during training as they prepare for the upcoming season, which is just around the corner.
