Super Falcons, Delta Queens learn opponents as CAF conducts WAFCON, champions league qualifiers draw.

The Super Falcons and Delta Queens of Nigeria will know their opponents in the Nations Cup and Champions League qualifiers respectively as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set Wednesday, July 5th and Thursday, July 6th for 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024 and the CAF Women’s Champions League Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Qualifiers draws.

The draws according to the CAF release Tuesday, July 4th will begin in Rabat on Wednesday and will be followed by the draw for TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Thursday.

The previous edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (2022) broke many records both in fan attendance and television audiences with the final shown in over 85 countries globally – breaking new grounds for the event.

The CAF Women’s Champions League – now on its third edition – will be held in Cote d’Ivoire 2023 with the dates set to be announced at a later date.

The CAF Women’s Champions League is the first women’s club continental competition on African soil. Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa won the maiden edition in 2021 and ASFAR of Morocco won the second edition which was held in 2022.

Nigeria’s Delta Queens will be part of the qualifiers draw – taking part in the regional competition (WAFU-B) which serves as the qualifiers for the tournament proper, having emerges champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership – going all season undefeated.

Super Falcons on the other hand, 9-time champions of the Women’s Nations Cup came fourth in the last after losing to Zambia in the loser’s final, in Morocco.
