WAFCON 2024: Sao Tome And Principe Pulls Out Of Super Falcons’ Test

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have gained an automatic qualification into the second round of the playoffs for the 2023 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations amidst the withdrawal of Sao Tome and Principe.

The nine-time African champions were pooled to slot it out with Sao Tome and Principe in the first leg of the first-round qualifying fixture this weekend.

Sao Tome and Principe Football Association have written to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) of their decision to withdraw from this stage of the qualifiers, meanwhile, the Super Falcons will now take on the winner of the tie between Cape Verde and Liberia in second round.

The tie is scheduled to take place between November 27 and December 5, 2023, for a ticket at WAFCON 2024 which will be hosted by Morocco.
