The game met with hype as fans were treated to a beautiful display from the home team who thrilled them with their possession (tiki-taka) style of play. This pattern didn’t however work out on the day as the away team defended well to hold their own. In the end, the final scoreline was 1-1.

On Sunday afternoon at the Benin Technical College football field, Shavik FA fondly called Shavik Lions gave away a two-goal lead as visiting Genesis FC left with a point.

After several attempts by the home team, they broke the deadlock just 5 minutes to half-time when Eichie Victor scored after running into a fantastic lop pass from Emmanuel Obasuyi.

Just a minute into the second half, Ale Oluwafemi extended the lead for the host, but a lack of communication between the goalkeeper and the centre-backs of the home team led to two quick goals for Genesis FC, with the last being an own goal. In the end, the game ended with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Bravehearts FC didn’t show up for their fixture, ensuring Rangers FC got three points with three goals also awarded.
