45th CAF General Assembly Moved To Abidjan, Ivory Coast

By Osamuyimen Mannaseh

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a change in the location for the upcoming 45th CAF General Assembly. Originally scheduled to take place in Benin, the Assembly will now hold in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The decision to relocate the event was made due to the unavailability of a suitable venue in Cotonou, following a recent visit by CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba.

In accordance with President Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s vision of rotating CAF competitions and events among the six CAF Zones while ensuring high-quality infrastructure, the CAF Secretariat identified Abidjan as the new venue.

Taking into consideration the evaluation of hotels, infrastructure, and amenities at various proposed locations, the 45th CAF Ordinary General Assembly will now commence on July 13, 2023, at 10:00 local time at the Sofitel Hotel in Abidjan.

Despite the change in venue, the agenda and resolutions of the General Assembly remain unaffected. CAF assures that the event will proceed as planned.
