Head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, José Santos Peseiro has implemented a new rule to stop players from playing Call of Duty late at night as he requires players to turn off their mobile phones by 9 pm each night, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

According to a report from The PUNCH, this decision was made in response to observations of team members playing the video game ‘Call of Duty’ late into the night. Peseiro’s aim with this policy is to minimize distractions for the team as they prepare for the all-important Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match against South Africa, set to take place at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake on Wednesday by 6 pm Nigerian time.

A source from within the team’s camp disclosed to The PUNCH that Peseiro has issued clear instructions for players to power down their phones in the evenings to ensure they get adequate rest and remain focused on the upcoming game. In addition to enforcing this phone ban, Peseiro has also limited his interactions with the media, dedicating his attention fully to the team’s preparations for the match against South Africa.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured their spot in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations by defeating Angola 1-0 in the quarter-finals, thanks to a goal from Ademola Lookman in the first half.
