Bayelsa Queens, reigning champions of the 2024/25 NWFL season, have moved into a new and improved camp after spending three years at the former camp.
The relocation to a new camp comes as part of the Bayelsa State Government’s effort to demonstrate continued commitment to the team and sports excellence.
The players welcomed the development with joy as the relocation to a new camp gives them the buzz and booster in their preparations ahead of the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers.
The Commissioner for Sports Development, Dr Baraladei Daniel Igali, during an inspection visit to the facility, highlighted the importance of investing in the athletes’ environment.
” Football is far more than just a game; it is a universal language that inspires, unites, and drives people to achieve greatness, especially when players have a conducive environment to prepare,” he said.

Dr. Igali further encouraged the team to stay dedicated
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you’re doing,”
The club’s Chairman Pastor, Robin Angonimi Apreala, in his remarks, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Douye Diri, Deputy Governor Lawrence Ehwrudjakpo and the Commissioner for Sports Development Dr Igali for their constant support.
“The Prosperity Government’s ability to listen, provide feedback, and advocate for our needs shows prowess of leadership,” Apreala said. “This investment indicates we have to keep working hard and playing well to win laurels for the state.”
Bayelsa Queens have since resumed training as they set their sights on the WAFU-B qualifiers.
