Remo Stars Sports Club of Ikenne Sunday evening kick-start their 2025/2026 CAF Champions League journey with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Comoros’ US Zilimadjou at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
Remo Stars’ early move for a goal nearly paid off in the 10th minute, but Abah Joseph’s effort from a loose ball got picked up by the Zilimadjou goalkeeper.
Two minutes later, debuting centre back, Leonard Ngenge scored from a corner kick, a loose ball in the box to send the crowd into wild jubilation.
Samuel Anakwe came close to scoring in the 33rd minute. He had his marker beaten, found Abah Joseph, but the latter sent his effort over the bar.
The team doubled the lead with a practice session goal involving Abubakar Chilekwu, and finally Ebuka Anthony slotted home the goal.
The second half resumed and Zilimadjou picked up a bit to try to change the tactics of their host, but their runs proved abortive. 9 minutes past the hour mark, Remo Stars tripled the lead.
