Okpebholo Salutes Super Eagles “Golden Bronze” Winning

Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their resilience, commitment, and fighting spirit in clinching the Bronze Medal at the Africa Cup of Nations, currently ongoing in Morocco, according to platinumnewsng.com.

Super Eagles Eagles beat Egypt 4-2 on penalties after 0-0 at regulation time — Stanley Nwabali saved from Omar Mamush and Mohammed Salah after Dele Bashiru had missed the first kick for Nigeria.

Reacting to the win, the governor praised the players for ending the tournament on a high note after going seven games representing the nation with pride despite challenges, noting that their win is a morale booster for every aspiring young youths and a unifier for the entire country.

Okpebholo urged the team to keep their heads high ans enjoy the moment while specially praising Victor Osimhen, Amas Obasogie and Bright Osayi-Samuel for their contributions to the team’s success.

Governor Okpebholo tasked the Nigeria Football Fédération to build on this and ensure that necessary loopholes are filled ahead of the 2027 AFCON.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots sports development in Edo State where more future stars would emerge to represent the country.
