Shavik Football Club on Sunday brought its 2025 football season to a close with an end-of-year award ceremony held at the Benin Technical School Field, the club’s home ground.

The event attracted club management, coaches, players, parents, guardians, and supporters, as Shavik FC celebrated excellence, discipline, and commitment across its junior and senior teams.
A novelty match was played between Pioneer/ Old players clad in green and current players of the team. The latter however emerged winners of the game winning by two goals. Memorable moment from the game was when Marvelous Joshua playing for the current players saved a penalty in the second half and moments later saved another penalty to ensure his side won the game.

Another major highlight of the day was the announcement of the club’s Patron and Matron. Edo State Football Association Vice Chairman, Paul Obozua Ojeisekhoba, was named Patron of Shavik FC in recognition of his contributions to the club’s growth and success.
Mrs Esther Omosefe Airen was also unveiled as Matron of Shavik FC for her support towards the development of the club.
Moments after her announcement, Mrs Airen made an immediate impact by pledging a ₦100,000 cash donation to support the team. She also promised to provide free lunch on Wednesday for all Shavik FC players who are students of Benin Technical School, a gesture that drew applause from players, parents, and guests.

The award segment of the ceremony recognised outstanding individuals for performance, discipline, leadership, and character throughout the year.
In the goalkeeping category, Evans Odumanwen emerged as Best Goalkeeper (Senior), while Marvelous Joshua claimed the junior award.

Happiness Funmilayo and Chinedu Aluge were named Most Improved Players in the senior and junior categories respectively. Chinedu Aluge also enjoyed an impressive evening, winning multiple awards, including Most Versatile Player (Junior), while Yusuf Adeniran took the Most Versatile Player (Senior) honour.
Attacking excellence was rewarded with Victor Eichie and Divine Ufuah emerging as Best Attackers in the senior and junior categories respectively.

In midfield, Osazee Omwanghe won the senior award, while Israel Dike topped the junior category. Defensive honours went to Joshua Ayiwe (Senior) and Goodluck Nduawike (Junior).
For discipline and punctuality, Charles Bernard and Divine Ufuah were named Most Punctual Players in the senior and junior categories, while Elijah Okafor and Chinedu Aluge emerged as Most Disciplined Players.
Leadership awards were claimed by Festus Osarogiagbon (Senior) and Anthony Ejechi (Junior).

Success Esekhaigbe was honoured as Fan of the Year, while Joel Adaigbe received the Loanee of the Year award.

In the academic and performance categories, Peculiar Iwenyen was named Most Outstanding Student (Junior), while Christian Adubu was honoured as Most Outstanding Player (Senior).
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards across age grades were claimed by Israel Dike (U13), Anthony Ejechi (U15), Marvelous Joshua (U16), and Yusuf Adeniran (U17). Yusuf Adeniran also picked up the Players’ Player of the Year award.

The ceremony concluded with Elijah Okafor being crowned Most Valuable Player (Senior), capping off a memorable evening of celebration for Shavik Football Club.
