Red- hot Edo Queens Football Club of Benin City Monday afternoon at the Akure Townshxip Stadium saw off Ghetto Tigers Queens Football Club of Lagos, 3-1 in the round of 32 of the President Federation Cup competition to advance to the round of 16.
Edo Queens wing sensation, Chioma Moses, opened the scoring for the Benin- City-based ladies in the 9th minute of play. Esther Inyang increased the tally to two-nil in the 27th minute while Nigeria Women Football League NWFL premiership top scorer Atume “Goal Poacher” Doosuur, scored the 3rd goal in the 58th minute to put Edo Queens on the lead.
However, Ghetto Tigers Queens FC got a consolation goal through a penalty bringing the score line to 3-1 at the regulation time.
With this victory over Ghetto Tigers Queens, Edo Queens now move to the round of 16 of the President’s Federation Cup.
As the competition enters its crucial stage, Edo Queens is determined to make a mark by ensuring they break that winless streak in the President’s Federation Cup.
The President Federation Cup has also provided the Moses Aduku tutored side an opportunity to prepare for the NWFL Super 6 coming up next month.
