Defending champions Kano Pillars secured the top of the table after a breathtaking match on day 2 of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League season 5 phase 2 at the University of Lagos Sports Center, Lagos.
Kano Pillars defeated Rima Strikers with a slight margin of 22-20 to continue at the top of the league table of the men’s category. In other matches, Niger United emerged victorious in a 36-27 win over Benue Buffaloes while Safety Shooters defeated Seasider Boys of Lagos 30-22.
Confluence Stars shined as they crushed Owena Kings 23-19 while De Defenders defended their territory against Police Machine 28-16. Tojemarine Academy were gifted points from a walk-over Kada Stars.
In the Women’s Category, defending champion Safety Babes struggled as they defeated Plateau Peacocks 23-21 Seasider Babes continued their newfound form as they conquered Rima Queens 20-17
Bendel Dynamos defeated Imo Grasshoppers 24-21 while Defender Babes and Benue Queens were gifted points after walking over Adorable Angels and Kada Queens respectively.
