…solicits votes for PDP candidates
Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, Wednesday led the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidates for Edo North Senatorial District, Etsako Federal Constituency and Etsako West Constituency on a rescue Nigeria mission to the area.
The Deputy Governor, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Maryann Shaibu and other PDP leaders, stormed wards 5 and 11, to galvanize support for all the PDP candidates, including the presidential election in the fast-approaching 2023 polls.
In his message to the people and supporters of the PDP, Shaibu said the PDP was poised to rescue Nigeria from misrule, bad governance and hardship by the APC-led Federal Government.
“I’m here to plead with you to go to your polling stations with your PVC and vote out APC and their evil government”.
“Your vote for Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, our son, as President and Vice-President and all the PDP candidates, Nigeria will be a better country for all of us”.
The Deputy Governor and his campaign train paid courtesy visits to traditional rulers in the locality to formally present the PDP candidates to the royal fathers.
Shaibu and the campaign train were at the royal palaces of the Adonogie of South Ibie, HRH Aliyu Danesi and Ogieneni of Uzairue, HRH Kadiri Imonikhe Omogbai IV, where they got a warm reception.
While presenting the PDP candidates to their Royal Highnesses and constituents, Shaibu solicited prayers and support to achieve electoral victory.
Highlights of the campaign rallies in the area were the defection of prominent APC members into the PDP and their reception to the umbrella party by the Deputy Governor.
