After four seasons in Gombe, Aliyu Zubair has officially resigned from his position as the head coach of Gombe United.
Zubair’s contract with Gombe United concluded at the end of the previous Nigerian Premier Football League season, leading him to decide to step away.
Expressing his gratitude for the support he received during his tenure, Coach Aliyu Zubair extended his appreciation to the people of Gombe, the fans, the management, and the players he had the opportunity to work with.
“Appreciation to the fans of the club, lovers, management and players for the maximum support they gave to me.
“One person I will especially thank is General Manager, Abubakar Abubakar ‘Dan Fulani’ for his support. I am indebted to him,” Zubair explained.
Zubair also explained that he will soon make a fresh update on the next step of his coaching career.
His time with Gombe United will be remembered for his remarkable achievement of guiding the club to the top-flight division. He leaves the team with their NPFL status intact, a feat that endeared him to the people of Gombe.
