Excitement is building as Bendel Insurance Football Club, one of the prominent teams in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has received an invitation to participate in the 2023 ValueJet Cup.
The preseason tournament, which aims to prepare clubs for the upcoming NPFL season and continental competitions, is set to kick off on August 4th and will conclude with the grand finale on August 10th at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Otunba Tade Azeez, the Chairman of the ValueJet Cup Organizing Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s edition, highlighting the positive response from the invited clubs. A total of eight teams, including those competing in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, as well as top NPFL clubs, have been extended invitations to showcase their talent and readiness for the forthcoming season.
“The objective of the ValueJet Cup is to provide a competitive platform for clubs and assist them in their preparations for the 2023/2024 NPFL season and continental tournaments,” stated Azeez.

As the defending champions, Remo Stars, secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Smart City in last year’s final, all eyes will be on the Federation Cup champions, Bendel Insurance and the other participating clubs to see who will emerge victorious this year.
Bendel Insurance Football Club, renowned for their rich history is poised to make their mark in the tournament. With their inclusion in the ValueJet Cup, the team has a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their strategies, test their mettle against strong opponents, and strengthen their cohesion ahead of the new season where they will play in the CAF Confederations Cup.
