The assistant coach of Abia warriors, Igwe Madubuike has vented his frustration on losing the oriental derby to rivals, Enyimba football club of Aba.
The match which was played at the Umuahia Township Stadium(the home ground of Abia Warriors)on Sunday the 26th of May, ended in a lone goal victory for Enyimba courtesy of a 72nd minute strike by midfielder Bernard Ovoke.
“I don’t feel good, but you know gootball is about qinning aome, loaing some, but as you can see this is the dorst game we are losing at home”, Madubuike said.
The gaffer also stated that, “No doubt, Enyimba has more quality players than us and they have shown that, that’s why they won the game”
He didn’t stop there as he went on to stress that Abia warriors is battling relegation. If we look at the table very well. If we can’t make amendments as we go for the next away match, that means we won’t be comfortable.
He concluded by saying,”we need to make amendments so that we can come up again. We have lost this, then we look forward to the mext game.”
Abia warriors sit 12th on the log with 44 points after 33 matches, while Enyimba is 2nd with 56 points after same number of matches.
Next stop for Abia warriors is an away fixture to 3SC of Ibadan at the Lekan Salami stadium on 2nd June 2024,while Enyimba host RIVERS United on the same day at the Enyimba international Stadium Aba. Both games kick off by 4pm local time.
