The away team came into the second half with renewed strength and just like their visitors, they pulled one back in the 49th minute from the boot of Tariq Seif Kiakala after Ihefu’s goalkeeper failed to properly handle a long ball. Both sides tried to get a goal at each other’s end but the Benjamin Tanimu marshalled defence stood its ground to ward off any hope of equalizer by their hosts.

Ihefu held on to their slim lead till the centre referee sounded the final whistle to record their second straight win for the first time since June 2023. With the win, the Meck Mexime-led team sits in 10th position with 19 points, 4 points adrift of fourth-placed Coastal Union.

The team will take on Kagera Sugaonin the next match day and will hope to make it three wins from three away games in a row.
