Osigwe Goodness was the shining star as Edo Queens defeated and humbled Remo Stars Ladies 3-0, in the semi final of the ongoing Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament at the Western Boys mini stadium, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
Osigwe started the goalscoring party in the 32nd minute as she found a loose ball in the 18-yard-box. Suliat Abideen had earlier taken a free kick from range, which was too hot for the Remo Stars Ladies goalie, Enebeni Chiamaka to handle. A goal mouth scramble from the rebound saw Osigwe tapping in for the first goal.
The second goal was nothing short of beauty as Osigwe from the edge of the box, played a cross that beat the Remo goalie, landing in the net to the amazement of fans and supporters at the Western Boys mini stadium.
Remo Stars fought hard to get back into the game but their morale was further dampened as the Center Referee spotted Ibrahim Hannah’s handball in the 53rd minute. Suliat Abideen did not fail to increase the scoreline to three and her tournament’s tally to four.
Edo Queens will now face Bayelsa Queens in the final of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament on Wednesday by 5pm. Remo Stars, will be up against Delta Queens fie the third place at the same venue by 3pm Nigerian time.
