BOWFT23: Edo Queens, Remo Stars clash in Group A, others learn opponents

The biggest women football pre-season tournament, the Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament, BOWFT23 is back for the third edition with interesting fixtures on the card, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

At the draws which took place on Friday, October 20th, the thirteen participating teams were drawn into groups for the group stage. Each group comprises three teams, with the top eight advancing to the quarter-finals. An exception with Group C which has four teams.

In Group A, we find the host team, Edo Queens FC who will be up against newly-formed Remo Stars Ladies. The Sky Blue Ladies is coached by former Edo Queens manager, Wemimo Matthew. Naija Ratels from Abuja is also grouped in Group A with Super Falcons captain, Onome Ebi in their ranks.

Group B is home to last year semi-finalists, Nasarawa Amazons, Bayelsa Queens, and Confluence Queens.

Group C will see defending Champions, FC Robo Queens, NWFL Championship side Fortress Ladies, Heartland Queens, and Rivers Angels.

Group D, hosts NWFL Champions, Delta Queens, Ekiti Queens, and Osun Babes.

The tournament is scheduled to commence on Monday, October 23rd, with the opening match set for 5 pm immediately following the opening ceremony at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
