CAFCC: Rivers United drawn in Group C

Nigeria’s only representative on the continent, Rivers United has been drawn in Group C of the CAF Confederations Cup for the 2023/24 season, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The Port-Harcout based side will play against Club Africain of Tunisia, Dreams FC of Ghana and Academica do Lobito of Angola as they hope to make it out of the CAF Confederations Cup group stages.

Rivers United’s journey in the CAF Confederation Cup holds significance not only for the club but also for Nigerian football co-efficient.

They are the sole Nigerian representatives in the competition this year after defeating Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso 2-0 on aggregate, as Bendel Insurance bowed out to RS Berkane of Morocco.
